Maytag 3000 Washer Locked With Door Open

The door lock secures the washer door shut during operation.

The top panel will pull straight back up and off. The washer will go into a hold and drain routine for 8 minutes. If the washer will not unlock at the end of a wash cycle unplug the washer or disconnect power. The door may immediately unlock.

The door will not immediately unlock while the cycle is running due to a possible high water level in the washer high water temperature tumbling or spinning. Reach up along the inside of the front and locate the bottom of the door switch lock unit. Gently pull the tab down about a 1 4 or until a click is heard. Wait approximately 2 minutes for control to reset.

Reconnect power to washer plug in. Remove the lower kick panel. Run a drain and spin cycle. Door on the maytag 3000 series front load washer will not open after placing clothes in the washer shutting the door and pressing the start button a buzzing sound starts and then an f22 code comes up.

Unplug washer or disconnect power. If the door lock is damaged or does not latch properly replace it. Nothing else will appear to be happening with the machine during this time. You should then be able to open the washer door.

Inspect the door lock for damage. After plugging the washer in one of the following 3 events will happen. The door should unlock after this is complete. Manually unlocking the door lock system 1.

Front loaders have a locking mechanism to avoid opening the door during a washing cycle but occasionally this lock will be activated accidentally. Carefully reach up along the inside of that front panel and pull down on the manual release tab that is on the bottom of the door latch assembly.

If not call for service. If the door lock is defective the washer door will not latch properly.
